West Ham fans scammed at Bournemouth match
This was posted on FB and asked to be shared on West ham sites heartbreaking, but what a great gesture from a West Ham fan who gave his ticket up and of course would be great if anybody has any info on this scumbag

PLEASE READ THIS AND SHARE WITH ALL WEST HAM SITES
At Bournemouth yesterday there was at least 12 people SCAMMED for there money who were promised tickets and they paid for them up front
We was standing with a chap who came all the way from New York especially for the game and he bought 3 tickets from a guy for £90 I think it was done via twitter on a group called West Ham tickets (but I’m not sure of this )
He waited until 14.30 then tried to txt the guy (who was in contact with him through the day ) the last txt didn’t go through at around 14.30 then I tried ringing the guy called LOUI and I left a message on his phone it turned out he turned his phone off at that point 30 minutes before kick off
apparently if was done via PayPal before any tickets were exchanged and the guy sent a photo of 3 tickets to the chap from New York with black marker pen over the ticket details he said the scammers name was Loui and his number was 07708 897349
Once we realised what happened one of our friends in our group gave the guy from New York his ticket (free of charge) so he could watch his team play after travelling so far on a promise (that’s what real West Ham fans do for their own a fantastic gesture in my book)
we were talking to several people outside our end we counted at least another 9 more people who got scammed by the same guy (one chap drove down with his little boy ) it’s so sad for genuine fans to be robbed like this and a shameful thing to do
Let’s try to find this scumbag and flush him out

If you buy via paypal you are protected.

apparently only if you use goods and services, some of these scammers get people to use friends and family where the protection doesnt work according to a scammed pal years ago

If you buy via paypal you are protected.
If you use your credit card you are protected by the consumer credit card act.
Use your Credit Card through paypal and double the protection.

I have used both to successfully reclaim money.

i thought it was common knowledge in the 21st century to only use paypal goods and services if you're sending money to a stranger ffs

My guess he had a drug debt and was desperate. Not excusing the scum bag though

I’ve bought loads of tickets off of here and never once had a problem

I seriously cant believe that in this day and age people still pay up top for tickets, from people they dont know.

I bought a boat trailer through PayPal from a scummy cunt that never delivered. After a month of waiting, getting no reply to emails or phone and messing about with my bank who were useless, I complained to PayPal. They were great, after a week in which they contacted the seller they sided with me and returned all my payment in full. I was extremely impressed with PayPal.

By the way the cunt was Phil Beardmore of ANGLESEY WELDING AND MARINE SUPPLIES LTD.

Bloke who did this is obviously a grade A cunt, but buying tickets on Twitter!!!! Its not the smartest thing to do either, so i dont have a very much sympathy for those scammed.

Unless its a reputable and bona fide source then leave well alone, or if you do chance it dont be surprised if you get ripped off.

Shocking story. This fella is no criminal mastermind and won't be that hard to track down if you someone really wanted to, just depends how badly someone wants to do it.

Re: West Ham fans scammed at Bournemouth match
Just called the number and left a message that we're on to him. The message could be perceived as threatening but remained polite.

A few more of us do it. Give him the message that it's not on.

Alternatively, the Yank was full of shit and he's actually a con man called Nigel. From Thurrock, probably.

When we first played Wimbledon in their temporary home of Selhurst Park, the tickets were available at the gate.

Near the station, there were a couple of scummy touts, wearing West Ham colours, telling people the match was sold out to increase their chances of ripping people off.

I wasn't going to pay their inflated prices without checking their story, and it turned out there were plenty of tickets left.

Having secured mine, I was so outraged at the lying bastards, I went back to the station (it was about an hour before kick-off) to warn people coming out of the station.

I got more odd looks saying "What the fuck is this loony on about" than thanks, so gave up after about ten minutes.

True story.

Same thing happened outside UP against the front-wheels in the league cup 80/81. The touts come unstuck and loads got in the south bank.

Re: West Ham fans scammed at Bournemouth match
I remember about 8 of us outside Villa Park in 80 for the Cup Semi without tickets, there was a few touts non West Ham trying to fleece the fans, asking for crazy prices with no takers until they asked the wrong group who snatched their tickets and gave them a kicking for their troubles. Unfortunately for them they didn't take PayPal.
